Discover Tamil Nadu, a land of magnificent temples and lovely beaches. In this holiday package, you will see the splendid sculpted walls of temples in Kanchipuram and Mahabalipuram and the towering and colourful gopurams of the Meenakshi and Ramanathaswamy temples. Trichy's Rock Fort is built atop an ancient rock and has been important throughout history, right from the Pallavas in the sixth century to as recent as the British. Pondicherry's French influence over architecture and names of streets will give the impression of being in another country altogether.

Itinerary

Package Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrive in Chennai | Drive from Chennai to Mahabalipuram via Kanchipuram (60 km/approx. 1.5 hours)

Arrive in Chennai to a warm welcome and proceed to visit Kailasanatha Temple, Vaikunda Perumal Temple, Varatharaja Temple and Ekambareswara Temple at Kanchipuram. Thereafter, drive to Mahabalipuram. On arrival, check in to the hotel for your overnight stay.

Day 2 - Sightseeing in Mahabalipuram

After breakfast, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Mahabalipuram including visits to Arjuna's Penance, Five Rathas, Shore Temple, Tiger Cave and Krishna's Butter Ball. Enjoy a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3 - Drive from Mahabalipuram to Pondicherry (160 km/approx. 4 hours)

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to Pondicherry, a former French colony. The town still retains a French influence in its architecture, surroundings and planning. On arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 4 - Sightseeing in Pondicherry

After breakfast, visit the Aurobindo Ashram, founded by a Bengali philosopher named Aurobindo in the early 20th century. In the afternoon, you will have the option to visit Auroville or relax on the beach. Enjoy a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 5 - Drive from Pondicherry to Trichy (196 km/approx. 5 hours)

In the morning, leave for Trichy/Tiruchirapalli situated on the banks of Cauvery River. A blend of history and tradition make it an important pilgrimage destination. Visit Ranganath Temple at Srirangam. Check in at the hotel. In the afternoon, go on a city tour of Trichy that takes you to Rock Fort and its temple, Srirangam and Jambukeshwar Temple. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 6 - Drive from Trichy to Madurai (120 km/approx. 3.5 hours)

After an early morning breakfast, proceed to Madurai. On your arrival, check in at the hotel. Enjoy a sightseeing tour of this bustling pilgrimage city where life revolves around the great Meenakshi Temple. This temple with its Gopurams (pyramidal gateway towers) is covered with a profusion of multi-coloured images of mythical figures, animals and gods. Also visit Tirumalai Nayak Palace and the Gandhi Museum. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 7 - Trip to Rameshwaram

After breakfast, drive to Rameshwaram. Upon arrival, proceed on a local tour of the town. Legend says that Ramanathaswamy Temple stands where Lord Rama performed worship of a sand lingam made by Sita. Have lunch at Rameshwaram and return to Madurai for your overnight stay.

Day 8 - Depart from Madurai

After breakfast, proceed to Madurai airport/railway station for your return journey.

Airfare component if added in the package given to you is subject to seat availability & price can change at the time of confirmation.
In case of non availability of rooms in selected hotels, a similar category hotel will be provided.
Confirmation depends on room availability and upon your placing of booking to us. Always check suggested hotel reviews online before confirming the booking with us.
Credit card payments are subject to 2 to 3% extra bank charges depending on card type.
No change in itinerary once confirmed will be honored unless otherwise given in writing.
Alternative Hotel/Room will be given; if the above quoted hotel/room type is not available, every effort will be made to ensure rate quoted remain same upon confirmation, however, surcharge is unavoidable should higher room category / different category of hotel is given, due to quoted hotel/room type being fully booked.
Extension of stay would be subject to availability and on pro-rata basis and as of best rate of the day existing at that time of booking.
In some hotels, caution deposit may be charged at the time of check-in which will be refunded at the time of check-out and it has to be borne by the traveler.
Breakfast in the respective hotel to be given by Hotel’s standard timings only.
Vehicle quoted on private will not be at disposal but will perform its respective duties as per the itinerary only. ( Point to point )
In case of tours quoted with sightseeing places, the cost does not cover monument entrÃ©e fees, photography charges and others if any.
No refund for partly unutilized tickets. No refund for "NO – SHOWS" & last moment cancellations (7 days prior to trip start date). For cancellations done prior to 7 days, refund amount will vary depending on the destination & type of package booked and is solely at the discretion of Ezi Holiday.
All tours are subjected to local weather/Social condition and there is no refund for the un-used/cancelled tours.
For Flight ticket cancellation, charges will be applicable as per the terms & conditions of the respective airlines. Ezi Holiday may also charge a processing fee of Rs. 250 to 1000 in addition to the airline cancellation charges.
